Eritrean Youth: Post-War Challenges and Expectations

INTRODUCTION

The Eritrean youths have been playing the leading role in bringing the country's independence and defending its sovereignty thereafter. Reconstructing the devastated economy and bringing about socio-economic development is also been on the shoulders of the youths.

The Eritrean youths, however, have had so many challenges, which need to be addressed at all levels through co-ordinated efforts of the government, society, NUEYS and others. Following the recent war with Ethiopia, the challenges - social, economic, and psychological - have become so enormous that addressing them through such a conference has become timely. Thus, the conference is aimed at looking into these challenges objectively from different perspectives and come up with concrete and valuable tools for pragmatic action programs to be drawn.
